Download Twitter photos in three steps

  1. Copy the post link

In the X app, tap the Share icon under the post, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address of the post from the browser bar.

  2. Paste it here

Paste the link in the box above. SLMtik recognises X (Twitter) automatically and starts by itself.

  3. Save the file

Pick the file you want. It saves to your phone or computer like any normal download.

How the Twitter photo downloader works

Long-pressing an image on X often saves a small preview, and on a computer "Save image as" can give you a WEBP file that some apps refuse. SLMtik does it differently: paste the link of the post, and it asks X for the original images — the same files X shows when you open a photo in full screen. You get each picture as a normal JPG, ready for your gallery, a document or an editing app.

It works as an X photo downloader and an X image downloader for any public post: news photos, infographics, artwork shared with permission, screenshots, recipes and your own pictures.

Full size, not the preview

X keeps every uploaded image in several sizes. The timeline shows a compressed version; SLMtik requests the original size, which is often up to 4096 pixels wide for photos taken with a modern phone. Nothing is upscaled or changed — the file is exactly what was uploaded.

Posts with several photos

A post on X can hold up to four images. SLMtik shows a button for each one — Photo 1, Photo 2 and so on — so you can download Twitter images one by one or all of them. If the post mixes photos and a video, the video gets its own MP4 button too. For GIFs, see the Twitter GIF downloader.

Saving Twitter photos on a phone

On Android, the photos appear in your gallery and in Downloads. On iPhone, Safari may save them to Files → Downloads; open a photo and tap Share → Save Image to move it to Photos. On a computer, they go to your Downloads folder.

Only public posts can be saved. Images from protected accounts, and posts that X hides behind a login because they are marked sensitive, are not available.

Use it fairly

Save posts you made yourself, or that the creator lets you keep, for personal viewing. Re-posting someone else's video or photo — even with credit — needs their permission, and each platform's own terms apply to what you save. Creators who want a post blocked from SLMtik can use our copyright page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download photos from Twitter?

Copy the link of the post, paste it here and tap the Photo button for each image you want.

Are the images in full size?

Yes. SLMtik requests the original size X stores, not the compressed timeline preview.

Can I download all photos in a post at once?

Each photo in the post — up to four — gets its own button, so you can save every one.

Which format are the photos?

JPG, the format the original upload uses on X, so every app can open them.

Can I download a Twitter profile picture?

Not with this tool. It saves photos from public posts by link.

Is the X image downloader free?

Yes, free, with no app, no account and no X login.
