Photo posts vs videos
A TikTok photo post (also called a carousel or slideshow) is a set of still images that play with music. Standard video downloaders either fail on these links or record the slideshow as a blurry video. The photo tool reads the post and gives you each original image separately, in the order the creator posted them.
Image size and format
Images come in the size they were uploaded — usually 1080 pixels wide — as JPEG or WebP. WebP is a modern format that every current phone and browser opens. If an older program will not open it, open the image in your browser and use "Save image as" to get a PNG or JPEG.
Saving the music
Switch the format to MP3 and paste the same link to save the slideshow soundtrack. More on that in the TikTok MP3 downloader.
Getting images into your gallery
On Android, downloaded images show up in the gallery under Downloads. On iPhone, Safari saves them to Files; long-press an image instead and choose Save to Photos to put it straight into your camera roll. The step-by-step version is in how to download TikTok slideshow photos.
What people save from photo posts
- Outfit ideas, hairstyles and room designs to show a hairdresser, tailor or carpenter.
- Recipe cards and study notes shared as images.
- Travel tips with maps and lists.
- Your own photo dumps, so you keep the full-size originals after you delete them from your phone.
Photos are the creator's work too. Save them for your own reference, and ask before you post them anywhere else.
