Public Stories only
Snapchat has two kinds of Stories. Friends' Stories are private: only the people the user chose can see them, and no website can or should download them. Public Stories are posted by creators, brands and public profiles for everyone, and also appear on snapchat.com. SLMtik works only with the public kind.
How the Snapchat story downloader works
Copy the link of a public Story or of a public profile and paste it here. SLMtik reads the snaps Snapchat shows publicly for that link and lists them as MP4 files you can save. Stories expire after 24 hours, so download the one you want while it is still live.
Snap Highlights
Creators can keep favourite Stories on their profile as Highlights, which do not expire. If a Highlight is public, copy its link and paste it here the same way. Highlights of private accounts are not available.

Notifications and privacy
SLMtik does not log in to Snapchat, so viewing or downloading a public Story here is not linked to any account. That is not a way around anyone's privacy: friends-only content stays private, and we do not offer "anonymous viewer" features for private profiles. If someone asks you not to keep their Story, respect it.
Use it fairly
Save posts you made yourself, or that the creator lets you keep, for personal viewing. Re-posting someone else's video or photo — even with credit — needs their permission, and each platform's own terms apply to what you save. Creators who want a post blocked from SLMtik can use our copyright page.
