How SLMtik handles content
SLMtik does not host videos, sounds or images. Files are fetched from the original platform at the moment a user asks and passed straight to that user. Nothing is stored on our servers afterwards. Even so, we take creators' rights seriously and will block specific content from our tool on request.
What a valid notice includes
- Your full name, and the company you represent if any.
- Your email address and postal address.
- The original content URL(s) on TikTok, Facebook or YouTube that you want blocked.
- A description of the copyrighted work.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you own the rights or act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature (a typed full name is fine).
Send the notice via the contact page with "Copyright notice" in the subject.
What happens next
We review valid notices within 48 hours. When a notice is valid, we block the listed URLs so the tool no longer fetches them, and we confirm by email. If a notice is incomplete, we tell you what is missing.
The faster route: the platform
Because the content lives on TikTok, Facebook or YouTube, reporting it to the platform removes it at the source — for everyone, not just for our tool. TikTok's copyright report form is in its help centre, and YouTube and Meta have their own forms. We recommend doing both.
Counter-notices
If you believe content was blocked by mistake — for example, it is your own video — send us a counter-notice with your contact details, the URL, a statement under penalty of perjury that the block was a mistake, and your signature. We will forward it to the original complainant and may restore access after 10 business days unless they inform us of legal action.
Repeat infringers
We may restrict access for users or networks that repeatedly use SLMtik to infringe copyright.
Our stance
We encourage everyone to credit creators and to reuse other people's work only with permission. Our plain-English guide explains the rules for viewers and creators alike.
What we cannot do
We cannot remove content from TikTok, Facebook or YouTube, identify the people who downloaded a video, or stop other websites and apps from fetching the same public file. Our block covers SLMtik only; reporting on the platform covers everyone.
Who can send a notice
The copyright owner, or someone authorised to act for them, such as an agency, label, publisher or lawyer. Agents should state who they represent. We cannot act on notices from people who do not hold or represent the rights.
Time frames at a glance
- Valid notice reviewed: within 48 hours.
- Incomplete notice: we reply with what is missing within 48 hours.
- Counter-notice: forwarded within 2 business days; access may be restored after 10 business days.
Fair use and quotations
Commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching and parody can be lawful uses of short clips in many countries, even without permission. When a notice concerns such a use, we may ask both sides for more information before acting.
For creators: protecting your videos
- Add your username as text inside the video; it stays even when the TikTok watermark does not.
- Turn off downloads for a video in TikTok under Privacy → Downloads if you do not want the app's Save button available.
- Keep your original files and project files — they are your best proof of ownership.
- When you find a repost of your work, report it on the platform where it was re-uploaded; that removes it at the source.
