Why Safari is all you need
Since iOS 13, Safari has a built-in download manager. When you tap Download here, the file goes to the Files app, just like on a computer. You do not need a third-party app from the App Store, and you should be careful of apps that ask for a weekly subscription to do the same thing.
Getting it into Photos
- Tap the blue arrow in Safari's address bar, or open the Files app.
- Go to Downloads and tap the video.
- Tap the Share icon and choose Save Video. It now sits in your camera roll.

On iPad
It works the same way. Safari on iPad may load the desktop version of TikTok, so copy the link from the address bar if there is no share button. Split View is handy: TikTok on one side, SLMtik on the other, and you can drag the link across.
Add SLMtik to your Home Screen
In Safari, tap the Share icon and choose Add to Home Screen. You get an icon that opens SLMtik full screen like an app, without installing anything or giving any permissions.
If nothing happens
- Check Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads and make sure a location is chosen.
- If you use Chrome on iPhone, downloads go to Chrome's own folder inside Files.
- Screen Time content limits can block downloads. Ask whoever manages them to allow this site.
- A full iPhone cancels downloads without a warning. Free some space in Settings → General → iPhone Storage.
