How TikTok stories work
TikTok stories are short videos or photos that stay up for 24 hours and then disappear from the profile. You see them as a coloured ring around a profile picture, and in the story bar on the For You and Following feeds. Because they do not stay, people often want a copy — of their own story, a friend's announcement, or a recipe they want to try later.
Every story has its own share link. Once you have it, SLMtik can fetch the video or image as long as the story is still live and the account is public.
Saving your own stories
TikTok keeps your expired stories in a private archive for a while, but it is easy to lose them when you change phones or accounts. Downloading each story when you post it gives you a permanent copy without the watermark, ready to reuse on Instagram or WhatsApp Status.
Video and photo stories
Video stories download as MP4 with sound. Photo stories download as a full-size image. If a photo story has music, switch to MP3 and paste the same link to keep the sound as well.
Privacy and stories
SLMtik never logs into anyone's account, so it cannot see stories from private accounts or stories shared only with friends. Downloading a story does not show up as a view under your name, because you are not logged in here — but please respect people who share stories only for a day. If someone posts a story because they want it gone tomorrow, keep that copy to yourself.
Time matters: copy the link and save the story as soon as you see it. After 24 hours the link stops working for everyone.
