Why we built SLMtik
We got tired of downloader sites that hide the paste box under five pop-ups, open new tabs when you tap anything, and push "cleaner" apps nobody needs. Saving a video you are allowed to keep should take ten seconds, not a fight. SLMtik is our answer: one box, one button, and the file.
The name is short on purpose: SLMtik is easy to type on a phone keyboard, easy to remember, and reads the same in every alphabet. The site is available in more than thirty languages because most people who save TikToks do not search in English.
What SLMtik does
SLMtik turns a public TikTok, Facebook or YouTube link into a file you can keep: MP4 video, MP3 sound, slideshow photos, story clips, cover images, profile pictures or captions. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is installed, and there is no account.
What SLMtik does not do
- We do not reach private, friends-only or deleted posts — and we never will.
- We do not ask for, store or use any social media password.
- We do not keep copies of the videos you download.
- We do not track you across other websites or sell data.
- We are not affiliated with TikTok, ByteDance, Meta or Google.
How it works
When you paste a link, our server asks the platform for the publicly available media file behind that post, the same file your browser would load if you opened the post. We pass it straight to you without storing it. If the post is not public, the platform does not give us the file, and we tell you so.
Our principles
Fast. The page loads without web fonts, trackers or heavy images, so it opens in about a second even on slow mobile data.
Private. No accounts, no download history, no selling of data. Details are in the privacy policy.
Honest. We only show qualities that really exist. No fake 4K buttons, no fake "download" ads.
Fair to creators. We remind people to credit creators, explain the rules in our guide to downloading legally, and act on copyright notices within 48 hours.
Who writes the guides
The guides are written and tested by the SLMtik team on current iPhones, Android phones, Windows PCs and Macs. When TikTok changes its app, we update the steps. If something does not match what you see, tell us — we fix reported errors quickly.

Every SLMtik tool
Each tool does one job: the TikTok video downloader for MP4, TikTok to MP3 for sound, the photo and slideshow downloader, the story downloader, the thumbnail downloader, the profile picture viewer and the subtitle downloader. For other platforms there is a Facebook video downloader and a YouTube Shorts downloader for your own uploads.

We do not plan to add accounts, browser extensions or a mobile app. A simple web page is safer, lighter and works on every device, and that is the point of SLMtik.
