How to check the resolution you got
- iPhone: open the video in Photos and swipe up, or tap the ⓘ button. It shows the resolution, such as 1080 × 1920.
- Android: in Google Photos tap the three dots → Details. In Samsung Gallery, swipe up on the video.
- Windows: right-click the file → Properties → Details → Frame width and height.
- Mac: select the file and press Cmd + I, or open it in QuickTime and press Cmd + I.
Vertical TikToks show as 1080 × 1920 (width × height). If you see 720 × 1280, that is 720p HD; anything below 720 wide is not HD.
Keep it HD when you share
- Send it as a file, not through a chat app that compresses video, or use the app's HD option.
- Do not export the video more than once. Every re-export loses detail.
- Upload to Reels and Shorts over Wi-Fi with the app's HD upload setting turned on.
