Quick answer: Copy the Reel link, paste it into Instagram to MP3, and tap Download. The MP3 goes to your Downloads folder.
Saving inside Instagram vs. downloading
Tapping the audio name at the bottom of a Reel and then Save audio adds it to your Saved list so you can use it in your own Reels. That is great for creating, but you cannot play it in another app. An MP3 file is a real copy.
Step by step
- Open the Reel and tap Share → Copy link.
- Open the Instagram MP3 downloader, paste, and tap Download.
- On iPhone, the MP3 is in Files → Downloads. On Android, look in your music app or Files → Downloads.
Get a clean version
If the Reel has talking over the music, tap the audio name to open its page. The top Reel is often the original upload, with the clean sound. Convert that one instead.
Find the full song
Licensed music shows the artist and title on the audio page. Use that to find the full track on a streaming service, which sounds far better than any Reel clip. If it only says "Original audio", see how to identify a song; the same tricks work for Reels.
What you can use it for
- Personal listening and offline playlists
- Your own voice-overs and podcasts recorded on Reels
- Ringtones, see sound as ringtone
